Copy in good condition. Paperback with titles and sepia-toned engraving on the front cover; protective dust jacket in clear acetate. Tiny adhesive label bearing the number 128 on the lower edge of the back flap of the dust jacket. Newspaper clipping with a photo of D'Annunzio glued to the back pastedown. Irregular edges. Slightly browned pages with wide margins, in excellent condition. The pages are richly illustrated with woodcuts at the beginning and end of the chapters, and decorated initials. Text in block capitals. A loose sheet with a portrait of D'Annunzio is included. Text in Italian.

First edition of the rare quarto variant of the collection of intertitles for the film 'Cabiria'. The text, all in elegant capital letters, is richly illustrated with woodcuts on the title page (Pegasus attacked by the Capitoline Wolf), on the Notes to the Action page (a brazier in the shape of a ship), and with five headpieces and five endpapers. The front cover features a splendid sepia-toned drawing by Mauzan. A loose sheet with a phototype portrait of the Poet by Romaine Brooks, bearing the Itala Film stamp, is included.
