Description
Work by Vettor Pisani linked to an artistic-political performance that took place in March 1972 in Piazza del Campidoglio: as the writing in the vertical margin indicates, it is a work of ideological and political clarification. What not everyone, even on the left, is willing to share, much less suffer, is, for Westerners, the loss of centrality of the West. This West that has elaborated the concept of freedom from the Enlightenment to Marxism and co-opted truth into the action of the Ego with the Freudian “I speak the truth”. It's true, but it is also this West that gave birth to the filthy “chose” that, in Sartre's words, was Nazism and still proposes and spreads that social cancer that causes even the popular masses to rise up against themselves and is called fascism. (Tommaso Trini, “Vettor Pisani” in Data, Dati Internazionali D'arte, 1976, p. 21)
