Description
Wooden statue that is part of the large Portuguese colonial production destined to the spread of Christianity. Among the centres of major production there was the State of Goa in India, conquered by the Portuguese in 1510 and placed under the protection of Saint Francisco Xavier, where Portuguese culture prevailed so so strong that the sacred artifacts including products are indistinguishable from contemporary Portuguese production in South America.
