On the front, there is a drawer in the lower part, surmounted by a single door with a mirror, framed between two twisted columns that support the trabeation and the cymathium. Ebonized wood, it is entirely carved in ivory with reinassance motifs, like phytomorphic elements, telamons and candelabra derived from the grotesque, and in the middle part of the cymathium a regal male figure holding a long sceptre. The scope tha this referred to is the one of the prolific atelier of the carpenter who worked with ebony and carver Ferdinando Pogliani (Milan, 1832-1899), active in the Lombard main city since the second half of 19th century. His production, assisted by the help of his sons, constitutes of ebony furniture or, for the most part, by ebonized wood, carved with Renaissance motifs in ivory, bone or turtle.
