Inlaid cabinet

Carlo X style armoire, featuring an elegant structure with a single door and a lower drawer. The rectangular base, supported by vase-shaped feet, presents a sober design, while the upper part is embellished with a light cornice. The two full-round spiral columns on the sides of the door add a distinctive element, framing the central mercury mirror. Made of bois de rose, with bois de rose details, the armoire is finely inlaid with anthemion and scroll motifs, which also decorate the cornice of the pediment. The latter features an inlaid Greek key, while the door frame is enriched with a gilded molding. Maple frames harmoniously separate the different woods, while gilded bronzes adorn the bases and capitals of the columns and the lock escutcheons. The door lock, signed F. Vago in Milan, is an example of craftsmanship.
