Egg-shaped vase in blown and acid-etched glass ("cameo" glass), decorated with the rosehip motif. Acid signature “Gallé” on the body of the vase.

Pioneer of Art Nouveau and founder of the École de Nancy, Émile Gallé (1846-1904) was a master glassmaker and brilliant designer. In the 1890s the production of "cameo" glass vases began, obtained through acid etching, a category which also includes our example dating back to around 1925.
