Cobalt Blue Porcelain

The 1976 Olympics plate was produced to celebrate the XXI Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976. The motif reproduced is in relief and the plate is hand-decorated in the classic underglaze cobalt blue shades. White porcelain plate with decorations in various shades of blue. Each plate was produced in limited quantities only and exclusively in the year shown on the plate itself and production ended at the end of the year with the destruction of the original mold which made it impossible to reproduce. As a guarantee of authenticity, the plate bears the Royal Copenhagen mark with the three overlapping wavy lines, which represent the three Danish straits: Øresund, the Great Belt and the Little Belt, the date, the title, the 1976 Olympics logo. The plate measures 20 cm in diameter and on the back it has the two holes made by Royal Copenhagen itself during production to allow it to be hung.
