4 Mahogany Chairs

Four chairs from the first half of the 19th century, made of mahogany, have turned front legs with the front band of the seat partially carved, the backrest is open with a central carved folder like the upper one in which a compartment for the grip of the chairs is perforated. The model is derived from English chairs of the same period.

Chiavari, Late XIX Century

Five "chiavarine" chairs from the end of the 19th century. Made of maple, super light, they have the typical turned workmanship on the legs and the rods of the backrest. Cane seat. These chairs were very successful in the 19th century for their design and lightness, and were exported all over the world; not only very popular, but considered elegant, they can be found in all European palaces.

Pair of Directoire armchairs in cherry, stamped “F: Geny”, French cabinetmaker active under Louis XVI. They have a shaped and carved open back, sabre-shaped rear legs and an upholstered seat. One armchair was reinforced later. France, late 18th, early 19th century.

Austria, Early XX Century

Pair of Biedermeier style benches made in the 20th century. In cherry, they have five uprights, with outwardly curved armrests, a boat-shaped backrest with a small central armrest; on the backrest there are turned pinnacles and as ornaments, carved and lacquered faux bronze applications, rosettes, one of which is missing, and an athlete's head taken from the antique.

Italy, Late XIX - Early XX Century

Corner sofa from the Art Nouveau period. The sofa is made as a corner, with wavy armrests and surmounted by an asymmetrical structure with shelves supported by whiplash motifs and a small compartment with a glass door in the center. The mahogany surface is decorated with brass plates with floral motifs, cut out and finely engraved. The Liberty motif is not only in the shape of the furniture but also in the decorations and the glass windows.
