Inlaid cabinet

Wardrobe with one door and a drawer. It appears architecturally as a plinth with a rectangular base on vase-like feet and marked on the top with a light frame. To break the architectural balance there are two twisted all round columns siding the door made with a big framed mercury mirror. The entire surface is made with rosewood with Brazilian rosewood reserves and refined inlays of "antemi" and spirals that are repeated on the framing bands of the reserves; on the top frame is inlaid a Greek fret; the inlaid frame of the door marks the mirror with a finely inlaid and gilded moulding. Light maple frames interrupt the ones made with rosewood and Brazilian rosewood while there is gold in the inlay of the door but also in the bronzes that complete the bases and the capitals of the columns and in the locks. The lock is marked F.Vago in Milan.

Chest of Drawers and Bedside Tables

Tuscan neoclassical suite, consisting of a chest of drawers and two bedside tables. The chest of drawers has a disappearing door that hides three drawers with bronze pulls inside, the bedside tables with a drop-down top and an opening door hide the compartments where the toilet ceramics were housed. Tall truncated pyramid legs ending with elegant turnings and inlaid with maple and Indian walnut in the shape of leaves, support the furniture veneered in dark Indian walnut with inlaid borders in maple, boxwood, chestnut with geometric motifs, in the center of the door of the bedside tables a rosette is inlaid, on the door of the chest of drawers a basket of flowers; the tops of the bedside tables have white marble set in an inlaid border of various woods on the chest of drawers instead it is simply supported. Filaments on the marbles of the bedside tables. Original hardware. In plate XXX of the "Furniture Warehouse ...." there is a model of chest of drawers similar in colour and which has a door not divided into drawers.

Italy 17th century

Seventeenth-century sideboard with front with two doors surmounted on the top by a decorative support. The whole piece of furniture is made of walnut split into two by large pilasters, with a projecting cornice with indentations decorated with gilded highlights like the decorative frames and roundels. Lombardy second quarter XVIII century

Writing desk resting on wavy legs with goat feet, drawer in the band under the top, top and riser with carved crown depicting plant motifs and central star. On the bottom, the riser has a coeval protrusion indicating that the piece of furniture belongs to a boiserie, probably a bookcase. The piece of furniture is decorated with inlays depicting floral motifs present in the solid wood of the top and walnut briar veneer with maple threads also present on the drawer and upstand. Baroque Frame

Small carved and gilded frame from the Baroque period, made in the first decades of the 18th century. The frame is carved in lime wood without applied parts; it is decorated with symmetrical leafy scrolls that end in a coat of arms at the bottom and in a shell on the top, on which a winged cupid flies down, bringing a crown to the figure depicted in the portrait, probably a bride metaphorically represented as Venus, according to the typical attributes, shell and Cupid. The similarity with the more famous frame attributed to Parodi, in which the narration of the Judgement of Paris is depicted, is evident: the moulding of the frame is the same as the two putti placed in the shell, in that case placed at the base of the frame, seem very close, a detail that makes us think of a production by a student of the same workshop.

Ferrara, Mid XVIII Century

Baroque sideboard made in Ferrara supported by cabriole feet, has a wavy front in which there are pairs of doors and drawers in the band: a large central one and two smaller lateral ones; the sides are also wavy and are equipped with a door each. On the top rests a riser with a shelf that can be opened giving access to the internal compartment, to which galvanized tanks have been added to allow it to be used as a planter; in walnut, the interiors are in fir. The piece of furniture has small restorations and replacements in the construction part of the drawers, in the rear strip and in the hinges of the shelf to allow the aforementioned transformation, in the hardware and in a handle of one of the two side doors.

Paris Third Quarter of the 19th Century

Napoleon III two-door sideboard, made by the cabinetmaker Georges-Alphonse-Bonifacio Monbro. Structure in ebony veneered oak, embellished with semi-precious stones and gilded bronzes. White marble top arranged within the edge, front with two doors decorated with reserves with vases of flowers and fruit made of stones in the centre, uprights at forty-five degrees, bracket feet. The bronzes, chiseled and gilded, portray leafy friezes, phytomorphic elements, godrons, rosettes, masks and volutes. The pilasters of the uprights are also made of gilded bronze, decorated with bunches and grape leaves and culminating with a caryatid and a telamon. Interior doors veneered in mahogany. Stamped in several parts on the hull and on the bronzes. Restorations and replacements.

Renaissance Column

Renaissance pietra serena pilaster strip, in the typical Florentine style of the late 15th century. One of a pair, probably from a fireplace, features a festoon decoration of leaves and fruit held by a bow, the bottom beaten with a burin, the Corinthian capital carved with the typical palm leaves.

France, Mid XIX Century

Table clock in bronze and white marble. On an octagonal base in white marble rests a fragment of a column decorated with grape vines that frame an enameled metal dial with Roman numeral hours and Arabic numeral minutes. In the center of the dial is the manufacturer's trademark. The clock is surmounted by an allegorical scene. Mechanism marked Nicolas Cailly.

Italy, XVI-XVII Century

Vase in embossed copper and finely worked with a burin. The two handles have an engraved decoration with repeated motifs.

Emilia Romagna, XVII Century

Double body sideboard with two paneled doors in the lower part and the same number in the upper part, turned knobs.

19th Century / 1801 - 1900

Pair of wooden vase holding columns, entirely lacquered in chinoiserie style. Shaped, the base has a tall painted plinth with red and black chequered reserves. On the four uprights, there are small tiles with a busy outline, they are decorated with floral motifs of oriental taste in the middle. On the four main sides there are bigger reserves, the middle ones are painted with oriental scenes: exotic plants with colourful birds, landscapes with pagodas, where aristocrats live, and palanquins carried by servants. On the top part, there is a small shaped and ebonized shelf.

Parma Mid 18th century

Baroque double body sideboard, supported by carved shelf feet, in the lower part it has four doors with tiles, also in the upper part there are four degrees doors, here decorated with characteristic tiles. Entirely lacquered in blue.

France, first half of the 19th century

Gilded and chiseled bronze clock. On the large rectangular base there is a scene with mythological divinities in relief on a finely chiseled background. Decorations with plant motifs and repeated motifs. The clock is surmounted by a large statue depicting a young man with a zither. At the top a panoply with laurel wreath and torch. Gilt bronze display with hours painted in Roman numerals.

Italy, Early XX Century

Box in embossed and engraved silver with leafy scrolls supported by four feet. On the lid with a wavy edge, a glass plaque in the shape of an agate is set. Silver mark engraved under the base. Grams 1085.

France Mid 19th Century

Chiseled and gilded bronze clock. The complex decoration of this clock over the apparent eclecticism of the whole makes the structural typologies and figurative details typical of sixteenth-century architecture prevail, proposing the facade of a building with a central staircase and statues of vestal virgins on the sides. The enamelled metal exhibition has the manufacturer's brand in the center but not very legible. The clock is surmounted by putti holding a wreath. Movement marked Cailly Ainè 1839 on the back of the dial.

Italy, Late XIX Century

Inkwell in yellow Siena marble with a gilt bronze bust of Napoleon at the top. On the sides, gilded bronze inkwells with finely chiseled fret decorations and leafy scrolls. The inkwell is supported by four circular gilt bronze feet.

France, Early XIX Century

Robert & Courvoisier temple table clock in gilded bronze, finely chiselled and engraved. Decorations with lion heads, winged dragons and plant motifs. The enamelled metal display with hours and minutes in Arabic numerals is held by a gilded bronze frame with the twelve zodiac signs. In the center of the dial signature of the well-known watchmakers. Movement with striker for the hours and quarters, on two bells.
