The institute of the Italian Encyclopedia is an Italian publishing house founded by Giovanni Treccani and Giovanni Gentile in 1925 in Rome, today also known as the Treccani Institute. The Treccani publishing house is famous above all for the publication of the first edition , and the following nine appendices, of the Italian encyclopaedia of sciences , letters and arts , commonly known as the Treccani . Adelphi
Adelphi is an Italian publishing house, founded in Milan by Luciano Foã , Roberto Olivetti and Roberto Bazlen . The Adelphi publisher story begins in 1962, where there was still talk of unique books as Adelphi hadn't found his name. Among the Adelphi books there were only a few certain data: the critical edition of Nietzsche and a series of classic books , based on the criterion of doing well what had previously been done less well and doing for the first time what had previously been done ignored. The name Adelphi was proposed and decided by Bazlen in May of the same year, but what does Adelphi mean? The meaning Adelphi derives from a Greek word which means "brothers, associates", which expresses the commonality of purpose among the founding members. There are many series belonging to the Adelphi publishing house, among which we mention: Classics, inaugurated in 1963 with The life and adventures of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe and Adelphi Library, founded in 1965. The volumes of the Adelphi library mainly consist of translations of works written in over 30 foreign languages, and the importation of these texts and authors into Italy is due in particular to the publisher Adelphi . Sellerio
Sellerio Editore is an Italian publishing house founded in 1969 in Palermo by Elvira Giorgianni and her husband Enzo Sellerio . The first turning point of the Sellerio publishing house comes with the publication of L'affaire Moro by Leonardo Sciascia , which fully represents the style of the Sellerio books : a courageous denunciation book written in magnificent prose; a book of great responsibility but written to be read and enjoyed. In 1983, the Sellerio publishing house was reorganized into two separate managements: Elvira Giorgianni took care of publishing fiction and essays, while Enzo Ssellerio dedicated himself to art books and photography books . A second important turning point is the birth of the blue series of Memory, which first of all revises the graphics of the Sellerio books : in the metallic greyness of the covers of those years the blue stain, the laid paper and the figurative pictorial image in the center of the dust jacket break through, inside a colored frame that recalled the color of the letters of the title. Alongside the birth of the most important series, the Sellerio publishing house is launching a new genre of Italian mystery book , born with the publication of Carta Bianca by Carlo Lucarelli . The world of detective literature will later expand, winning a huge success represented, at its peak, by the Sicilian school detective story, which sees Andrea Camilleri and Santo Piazzese as absolute protagonists. The Sellerio thrillers are highly successful and widely circulated titles: Camilleri sells five million copies produced in Palermo, plus the translation rights sold as far as Japan. An oddity that accompanies the Sellerio publishing house concerns the fact that for forty years it has remained identical: in fact, Sellerio books keep the same paper, the formats, the blue of the cover; finally, the necklaces still follow the graphic design of Enzo Sellerio .

Hoepli is an Italian publishing house founded in Milan in 1870 by Ulrico Hoepli , a Swiss naturalized Italian publisher. Even today, the publisher Hoepli is chaired by Barbara Hoepli , descendant of a grandson founder. The Hoepli publishing house specializes in scientific publications, carrying out its activity mainly in the sector of school books and technical manuals, as well as in linguistic publishing and in the publication of dictionaries. Hoepli books for school include books for high school, technical and professional education; the Hoepli school sector is just one of the many presented in the extensive catalog of the Hoepli editore . Alongside this, the Hoepli publishing house offers a wide range of Hoepli books for foreigners, which include courses and guided readings to learn Italian. The Hoepli story is affected by the changes in history, such as the first and second world wars or the rise of fascism, and by the progress of society. Since the sixties, the publisher Hoepli has adapted to changes in society, extending its production to new technologies, such as telecommunications, electronics and information technology, as a result, for example, the use of Hoepli ebooks. In the seventies the Hoepli school sector developed, with the production and sale of school books and, in the following years, Hoepli books became increasingly oriented towards technique, manuals , school and university publishing.

Edizioni E/O
Edizioni e/o was born in Rome in 1979, founded by Sandro Ferri and Sandra Ozzola . The publishing house Edizioni e/o has always been the expression of the desire to create bridges and breaches in literary frontiers to stimulate dialogue between cultures. This already manifests itself in the name, so when searching for the Editions and/or meaning the "e/o" stands for "and/or/ but also for "east/west". At first, the books of Edizioni e/o focus on the literature of Eastern countries, of which the debut book remains Explosion of an empire? by Hélène Carrère d'Encausse , an essay on the fate of the USSR. Today, the E dizioni e/o publishing house has also broadened its horizons to include fantasy books , such as the best-selling saga of Attraversaspecchi by Christelle Dabos. Finally, the passion for cultural exchange that has characterized E dizioni e/o since its inception led Sandro Ferri and Sandra Ozzola to create Europa Editions, a new publishing house based in New York and London. Within the Editions and/or catalogue, it is possible to immediately view how the editions and/or books come from over fifty different countries, underlining once again the attention that the publishing house and/or places towards culture and cultural exchange.
Newton Compton
The Newton Compton publishing house was founded in Rome in 1969 by Vittorio Avanzini , still running the company together with his brother. Since its inception, Newton Compton Editore has dedicated itself above all to the paperback book market, so Newton Compton books from the 1970s consist of inexpensive paperbacks , including essays and classics of Italian and foreign fiction. It was this publishing house that published Freud in an economic version.
