When can we define a piece of furniture as an antique? When a piece of furniture reaches 150 years from its production, it can be defined as an antique piece of furniture (or antique furniture).

What is antique furniture?

Antique furniture, in addition to being furnishings, carries with it a large part of history and passes it on to future owners.
Antique furniture is particularly rare and of great value (both economic and sentimental). To be considered rare furniture or highly valuable, it must have been produced before 1850. Style furniture is also considered antique furniture, as it draws inspiration from the styles of past eras. Instead, furniture produced in the second half of the nineteenth century is no longer considered antique, but rather period furniture, since modern manufacturing processes were used.
