Portrait of a Young Venetian Woman

Watercolor on paper. Signed and located at the bottom right. Venetian painter Umberto Zini created numerous portraits, both of famous figures and common people, always remaining within the Veneto region. The work is presented in a period frame.

Fake fresco tear. Emulating an ancient fresco, the face of Saint Anthony the Abbot is depicted here, recognizable by several of his iconographic features: he is dressed in a friar's habit with a scapular, holding a staff to which is attached the bell used by friars and hermits to announce their arrival for almsgiving, and with his right hand in blessing, from which emerges a tongue of fire, a symbol of both illness, punishment, and the dominion of the underworld by Good. The work is framed by a listel.

Landscape

Oil on panel. Signed lower right. Luigi Comolli, a Milanese artist, distinguished himself for his landscape and still life paintings. His work displays an Impressionist influence, drawn from his formative years in Paris. Presented in a mid-20th-century frame.

Landscape with Lake Glimpse

Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. Little biographical information is available about Angelo Rovida, a landscape painter from Lodi who painted landscapes and urban views, primarily in Northern Italy. The painting is presented in a contemporary guilloché frame.

Painting on canvas. Unlike most contemporary banners, this one is hand painted and not printed on canvas. The scene is divided into three parts, enclosed within a frame painted with floral motifs and separated by the design of small columns. In the center are depicted the Madonna with Jesus on the throne, on the sides two angels with the appearance of girls. The painting is then framed by a trimming.

Landscape with Mill

Oil on cardboard. Signed lower right. Carlo Vittori, an artist from Cremona, mainly portrayed the landscapes of his Po Valley. Here he proposes a countryside inhabited by a mill, to which the water arrives through an overhead canalization. The painting is presented in chronicle.

Seated Figure

Oil on wooden board. Signed lower right. The painter Salvatore Sportelli, of Apulian origin but who lived for a long time in Lodi, where he taught (a posthumous exhibition of his was recently held in the city), produced numerous popular figures and genre scenes characterized by a look at post-impressionism. The work is presented in a frame.

Fulvia Levi-Bianchi, originally from Trieste but educated in Milan, has devoted herself to painting, sculpture, and design, moving from her early figurative works of the 1960s, where academic influences of surrealism are still evident, to the large-scale portraits, sculptures, and paintings of the 1970s and 1980s, where the language becomes metaphysical and philosophical. These works established Fulvia Levi-Bianchi as an internationally renowned artist, leading her to exhibit in museums and galleries around the world. She has painted portraits of many famous people. Influenced by Expressionism during his Parisian years, Fantuzzi placed a strong emphasis on the expression of emotions and moods in his works. Color dominates his canvases, typically in cool tones of blue, green, and purple, creating sometimes violent contrasts. Fantuzzi's main themes are the loneliness of the metropolis and the difficulty of communicating in interpersonal relationships; he often paints poorly defined figures and eyeless faces. Framed.
